On September 19-20, the 236th Executive Committee (ExCo) Meeting of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) was held in New York. The meeting reviewed and adopted the minutes of the 235th ExCo Meeting, Secretary-General’s report on activities, finance and membership, discussed work plan of WFUNA and its participation in the UN Summit of the Future. WFUNA Secretary-General, Vice President and Treasurer and the ExCo members from China, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Georgia, Russia, United States attended the meeting. Ms. Hu Wenli, Vice-President and Director-General of the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China), attended the meeting and introduced UNA-China’s recent work, expressed the hope that the Summit of the Future will help bring the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development back on track. She called on civil society of all countries to strengthen cooperation, support the United Nations in playing a central role in addressing global challenges, and promote the effective implementation of the outcomes of the Summit.
Ms. Hu Wenli also participated in the Summit of the Future Action Days at UN Headquarters in New York on September 20-21.
