SAMR Holds a Meeting to Promote Important Standards Development

SAMR (SAC) held a meeting on July 18 to thoroughly implement the major decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on promoting the upgrading of standards and exerting the leading role of standards, and accelerate the development and revision of standards in important areas and key links. The event was attended and addressed by Dr. Tian Shihong, Vice Minister of SAMR and Administrator of SAC.

As the meeting noted, various departments, industry associations, and technical committees should make the tasks and measures more detailed, shoulder their responsibilities at all levels, make solid progress in implementing the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and drive the vigorous and orderly development of standards in important areas and key links.

It emphasized profoundly understanding the new requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council for standards upgrading, adhering to the leading role of standards, strengthening the effectiveness of standards, grasping the right direction, and better serving the high-quality development with standards improvement.

The meeting also required to further improve work efficiency, strengthen process management, enhance coordination, promote publicity and implementation of standards, and fulfil the task of developing relevant standards on time and with good quality.

The meeting was attended by the representatives from 11 departments related to the State Council such as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Civil Affairs, and Ministry of Transport, five industry associations, and 10 relevant national standardization technical committees.
