Meeting on Local Standardization Work 2024 Held in Harbin

The meeting on local standardization work was held in Harbin, Heilongjiang, from July 9 to July 11, which summarized the local standardization work in the first half of the year, and studied the priorities in the next stage. The event was attended and addressed by Dr. Tian Shihong, Vice Minister of SAMR and Administrator of SAC.

According to the meeting, local governments have practically implemented the National Standardization Development Outline. Remarkable results have been achieved in areas such as serving the economic and social development, and participating in international standardization work.

As the meeting required, various regions should correctly understand the new circumstances and tasks in local standardization work to insist on the leading role of standards, strengthen the effectiveness of standards, expand international communication, and enhance capacity building.

They should strengthen international standards development in key areas, improve the capability of participating in international standards organizations, motivate the vigor of enterprises in participating in international standardization work, and focus on the establishment of research centers on regional standards. They also should enhance the implementation and supervision of standards, regulate the development and application of local standards, lay a solid foundation of talents, and promote the cultivation of talents on standardization management in enterprises.
